World Book Day
Hundred of students swapped books and ideas about reading as part of World Book Day celebrations. Every student in school was able to participate in a celebratory non-uniform day by bringing in a book to be swapped with another student. The school hall was transformed into a second-hand bookshop by the Year 10 Peer Mentors and books flew off the shelves, with every student who brought a book eligible to take one away. Other events during the week included Readathon, which raised more than £500 for children’s charities, and dedicated Drop Everything and Read time.
